Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our services, pricing, Medicare claims, and what to expect at Reform Lab.
Getting Started
No referral is needed for chiropractic care at Reform Lab. You can book directly online or call us. However, if you’re claiming through Medicare under an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan, you’ll need a referral from your GP.
Your first appointment (45 minutes, $140) includes a thorough health history, physical assessment, diagnosis, and initial treatment. Dr. Ethan Chen will explain his findings and create a personalised treatment plan.
You can book online 24/7 through our website, call us at +61 425 678 880, or visit us at Suite 203, 8 Elsie Street, Burwood NSW 2134.
Services & Pricing
Our pricing: First Appointment (45 min) $140, Standard Appointment (20 min) $80, Extended Appointment (45 min) $120. EPC consultations are privately billed with Medicare rebate available.
We offer chiropractic care, physiotherapy, and clinical Pilates under one roof. Our evidence-based approach includes spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, dry needling, cupping, shockwave therapy, and rehabilitative exercises.
We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions including back pain, neck pain, headaches, sports injuries, sciatica, shoulder pain, postural issues, workplace injuries, and pre/post-natal discomfort.
Chiropractors focus on spinal alignment and nervous system function through adjustments, while physiotherapists emphasise movement rehabilitation and exercise therapy. At Reform Lab, we combine both approaches for comprehensive care.
Insurance & Payment
Yes. If you have an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plan referral from your GP, your chiropractic sessions can be partially covered by Medicare. We also accept DVA and WorkCover referrals.
Yes. We offer HICAPS instant claiming for all major health funds including Bupa, Medibank, HCF, NIB, and more. Simply bring your health fund card and claim your rebate on the spot.

Physiotherapy & Pilates
No referral is needed for a private physiotherapy appointment. You can book directly with Jerry Tao. However, if you’re claiming under Medicare (EPC plan) or a WorkCover/DVA referral, you will need a referral from your GP.
Clinical Pilates is a physiotherapy-guided form of Pilates using reformer machines, tailored to your specific injury or condition. Unlike group fitness Pilates, each exercise is prescribed based on your assessment and is supervised by a qualified practitioner to ensure correct form and progression.
Yes, if your Pilates sessions are delivered by a registered physiotherapist or chiropractor, most private health funds will provide a rebate under your ‘physiotherapy’ or ‘chiropractic’ extras cover. We offer HICAPS instant claiming on the spot.
Wear comfortable, fitted clothing that allows you to move freely — leggings, shorts, or activewear are ideal. Avoid loose or baggy clothing as it can get caught in the reformer. Grip socks are recommended but not required.
It depends on your condition. Chiropractors specialise in spinal adjustments and joint alignment, while physiotherapists focus on movement rehabilitation and exercise therapy. If you’re unsure, book a first appointment and our team will recommend the best approach — or a combined treatment plan.
Our Clinical Pilates sessions are small-group or one-on-one, ensuring personalised attention. Small group classes have a maximum of 5 participants so your instructor can monitor your form and adjust exercises to your needs.
Yes! All of our practitioners speak both English and Mandarin, so you can communicate comfortably in whichever language you prefer.
